Fans just can't let it go. You know the "Frozen" soundtrack that is. The album is a bonafide sensation.

Bolstered by the number one, Oscar-winning hit song "Let It Go," not only is the "Frozen: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" the biggest selling album of 2014, but it's also the only one to reach one million in sales according to Forbes.

In fact, the "Frozen" soundtrack has nearly tripled that number this year alone. Billboard says that the album's 2014 sales stand at 2.7 million. It received that info from Nielsen SoundScan. The remaining 338 thousand "Frozen" copies were sold in 2013.

Quite amazingly, "Frozen" tallied that third of a million milestone in less than two months, as the album was released two days before the feature film at the tail end of November 2013. And the "Frozen: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" still managed to claim fifth place in total soundtrack sales for 2013.

You can look at these album sales numbers in one of two ways: A successful, never-ending gravy train for Disney or a bright spot in a dampened, desperate recording industry. Either way, the recording industry may not see another "Frozen" for a long time.

The success of this album is nearly as remarkable as that of the film it was based on. Earlier this year, "Frozen" became the number one animated film all time in the global box office with receipts of 1.267 billion. "Frozen" knocked fellow billion-dollar grosser "Toy Story 3" off its perch, though the latter made more money at the domestic box office, according to Box Office Mojo, when adjusted for inflation.
