A super-smart 16-year-old just received a perfect 2400 SAT score, adding to his collection of academic overachievements.

Maadhav Shah also holds three associate college degrees in math, physical science and social science from American River College, while he still attends Granite Bay High School near Sacramento, California.

Shah began taking collegiate courses at ARC by age 10. Normally, ARC limits students younger than 16 from taking classes, but made an exception for Shah since he was mature beyond his years. However, administration did require that a parent be present while he attended classes on campus, so his mother regularly was there to supervise her son.

On graduation night, Shah said he received a warm reception from college students and administration.

"I started seeing some of the same people over and over again, and I made some new friends here at college," Shah told FOX40. "It was a pretty congenial reception. I was really happy with it."

As for the perfect SAT score, Shah said he was surprised by the results.

"When I saw [the score], I checked to make sure it was my name and my email, and then I was really happy," he said.

Shah is among the less than .03 percent of students, roughly 500 individuals, who scored a perfect 2400 on their SATs. While he wasn't expecting it, Shah did say he studied for five or six weeks while preparing to take the exam.

Even with all of his academic hard work, Shah says he still enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games and enjoying extracurricular activities like robotics club at Granite Bay High School. And although he currently holds multiple degrees, Shah plans to continue with senior year at Granite Bay before pursuing a four-year degree in engineering at a university such as Stanford or Cal Tech.
