Dennis Rodman is back in North Korea to visit his "friend," North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. Rodman returns to the secretive Korean nation after a visit earlier this year.

"I love him - the guy's awesome," Rodman said of Jong-un.

Rodman's visit comes shortly after North Korea rescinded its invitation to US Human Rights diplomat Robert King, who was scheduled to visit the nation in hopes of bringing home Kenneth Bae, a Korean-American Christian missionary who has been imprisoned and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor.

"I'm not going to North Korea to discuss freeing Kenneth Bae," Rodman said to Reuters. "I'm just going there on another basketball diplomacy tour."

Rodman claims that his five-day trip will consist of basketball and building friendships with his North Korean friends, who have welcomed his basketball background. Although not much is known about what happens inside the borders of North Korea, it has been reported that the nation's dictator enjoys basketball.

"I just want to meet my friend Kim, the marshal, and start a basketball league over there or something like that," Rodman said. "I have not been promised anything. I am just going there as a friendly gesture."

In an era when tensions between North Korea and the United States have reached all-time highs in recent years, Rodman has seemed to be the only person to bring any sort of conversation between Americans and North Koreans.

"I'm just going over there to have a good time and try to bridge the gap with Americans and North Koreans," he said. "Just let's let people see in America that it's not a bad thing to go to North Korea and have a good time and meet new people."

"They love whiskey. They love tequila. They love vodka, stuff like this, so, hopefully we'll go to have a nice dinner, sit there and talk," he said.
