The Seattle Seahawks agreed to trade Percy Harvin to the New York Jets, multiple reports confirmed Friday.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports broke the news, posting on Twitter that Harvin was sent to the struggling Jets in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2015.

Jets general manager John Idzik also confirmed the deal on Saturday, saying in an official statement that they are very excited to add a versatile offensive option like Harvin, who has 22 receptions for 133 yards with no touchdowns in his first five games this season.

"Percy is a versatile, dynamic player who has been productive on offense and special teams," Idzik said in a statement posted on the team's official website. "We're excited about adding him to the Jets."

Seahawks general manager John Schneider also issued a statement, saying that trading Harvin was a difficult decision for the team, considering how the wide receiver played a big role in their Super Bowl XLVIII victory last season.

"Although this was an extremely difficult decision, we are constantly evaluating our team and believe at this time, that this is in our best interest to move the team forward," Schneider said. "We thank Percy for his efforts that contributed to a Super Bowl XLVIII victory and wish him well."

Initial reports indicated that the Seahawks decided to trade Harvin because of salary cap reasons. However, ESPN insider Terry Blount revealed that it has something to do with the 26-year-old's inappropriate behavior.

Sources close to the situation reportedly told Blount that Harvin's behavior is already affecting the team's chemistry, with sources also indicating that the former Florida standout engaged in physical confrontations with teammates inside the Seahawks locker room several times.

While the trade came as surprise to their fans and some of his teammates, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Seahawks have been considering trading Harvin over the past several weeks.

"This is one they've been considering for some time for a couple reasons," Rapoport said via NFL.com. "One, in the locker room, Percy Harvin, as we all know, is certainly not the easiest player to deal with."
