Chris Algieri will be a heavy underdog against Manny Pacquiao, but his trainer is confident that the unbeaten champion will pull off a huge upset on Saturday night at Venetian Resort in Macau, China.

Tim Lane, Algieri's head trainer, said during a press conference on Wednesday that they know they will have a hard time dealing with Pacquiao, whom they called as a ring legend and a great champion.

Lane is confident, though, that Algieri, who holds an unblemished 20-0 record with eight knockouts, will become the new World Boxing Organization welterweight champion on Saturday, and become one of the biggest boxing stars in the world after winning against the former pound-for-pound king.

"On Saturday night, the passing continues and we'll gonna see a new champion and a new star in the division," Lane said of Algieri via GMA Network.

When asked about the fight prediction from Algieri's camp, Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach shrugged off his counterpart's assessment, saying that Pacquiao will surely score a dominating win against Algieri.

Roach is also unsure if Algieri will make the 144-pound catchweight before fight night, which will make it more difficult for the Huntington, New York native to hit perfect shape on Saturday.

"I don't think he can make it," Roach said, referring to the catchweight. "He looks big for 144. And should he decides to trim off that extra pound to make the weight, he will surely struggle and will climb the ring with no power at all. I really don't think he will survive round number one. It will be very difficult for him."

Pacquiao, who is coming off a unanimous decision win against Timothy Bradley in April, also laughed off Algieri's camp's prediction, saying that he is determined to prove that he is still one of the best fighters in the world and that he still has a lot of gas left in his tank.

"I've trained hard and I'm so inspired and determined to win this fight," Pacquiao said via PhilBoxing. "I'm gonna prove to the world my intensity and aggressiveness in the ring is still there."
