Sam Smith recently revealed that he met a new boyfriend, while filming the music video for the latest single "Like I Can" off his debut studio album.

The "Stay with Me" hitmaker, who actually had never dated before, insisted that his relationship with beau Jonathan is still in its early stages. "It's very early days. I'm talking very, very, very early days," he told The Sun. "But he's really sweet... he was one of 20 extras."

Smith then admitted how he is uncertain about their relationship status, since Jonathan does not know that they are together. "It's a surreal thing to be talking about, because I haven't even confirmed with him that we're officially seeing each other," he said.

Also, the British singer-songwriter apparently does not expect the romance to last, explaining: "People need to realize I'm never going to be happy. The reason I do what I do is because I'm an artist, who is always going to be blue about something."

"I'm going to go fall in love with as many people as I can and get my heart broken," he added.

Meanwhile, the Smith recently revealed his inspiration for the follow-up to his "In the Lonely Hour" album: breakup.

"I'm just going to try to fall in love and make them dump me so I can write another record," he told MTV News at last week's Jingle Ball in New York city. "I always thought I would wait [to write new songs], because I've got a long time to go before I'm even going to think of releasing, but I've already started writing some songs and have some ideas and stuff."

In addition, Sam Smith got six nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards 2015, including album, record and song of the year, as well as best new artist.
