Sam Smith is a talented musician, just like fellow Brit Adele. In the latest issue of Rolling Stone, he expresses how he feels about the ongoing comparisons.

As a kid I dreamed of being on the cover of Rolling Stone. I couldn't be happier x

Although he considers the "Someone Like You" crooner as his personal Michael Jackson, the "Stay With Me" singer feels that it is not accurate to compare them.

"We're very different, and I feel like the constant comparisons might piss her off," he says in the video accompanying the story. "It just annoys me that people can't digest two pop stars singing really personal songs who don't look like normal pop stars."

Smith also opens up about the bullying he endured as a gay teen, and his pal Taylor Swift offers some words of support: "People just want someone real to listen to, and the vulnerability Sam is willing to project comes off as bravery, because it's authentic."

In addition, the "Latch" hitmaker reveals that he is currently on a cayenne-pepper juice diet for this year's Grammys, which is less than two weeks away.

"I just want to lose weight for the Grammys, if I'm honest," he says. "I'm just very body-conscious. Sometimes I'm really proud that I don't look like other pop stars. But there's also moments where I'm like, 'Ugh, I wish I had abs like Bieber.'"

Sam Smith, who is set to perform during the annual ceremony's Feb. 8 broadcast, will be facing off against Beyoncé in the Album of the Year category for his debut studio album "In the Lonely Hour" -- he says he is fine with taking second place.

"She deserves it way more than I do," he says. "I'd be embarrassed if I got it over her. If I got it, I'd give it to her."
