Missy Elliott posted a photo of her and Pharrell Williams to her Twitter account, hinting that the two are working on a song together.

"VA! 2 up 2 down! Me & my fam @Pharrell hard at work," she captioned the photo as they posed in a music studio together.

Pharrell and Missy performed together at the 2014 BET Awards; the "Happy" singer surprised the crowd as he brought her out to sing "Pass That Dutch" during his opening set, Billboard reports.

The "Lose Control" rapper has also been spotted in the studio with longtime friend and collaborator Timbaland.

Williams recently won International Male Solo Artist at the 2015 Brit Awards, The Guardian reports.

The musician won his first Brit award over John Legend, Jack White, Beck and Hozier.

Pharrell Williams is best known for his work with rock and hip-hop band NERD and production duo Neptunes. His hit single "Happy" topped charts in 2014, and it was named the most downloaded song in the United Kingdom that same year.

Earlier this year, Pharrell Williams performed at Davos with Al Gore as he announced plans for a 2015 Live Earth concert. He also teamed up with famous pop star Miley Cyrus on the single "Come Get it Bae."

Despite his success, Williams is scheduled to face trial along with singer Robin Thicke under allegations that their 2013 hit song "Blurred Lines," was wrongfully derived from Marvin Gaye's 1977 hit "Got to Give it Up," according to Billboard.

Williams, Thicke and song co-writer Clifford "T.I." Harris Jr. originally brought the lawsuit in order to protect "Blurred Lines" from rumors that it was stolen by Gaye. Thicke is a witness for the case.

According to the suit, the 2013 hit has nearly eight similarities with Gaye's 1977 hit including the core theme of the song and the hook.
