Newlywed Cameron Diaz is convinced she has found the fountain of youth.

The 42-year-old "Something About Mary" star assures Cosmopolitan U.K. Magazine at least part of the answer to the age-old riddle lies in an active and satisfying sex life.

"It's something healthy that we need to be doing for many different reasons," she said. The month-old bride of Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden later added "the fountain of youth [for me], let's see... I guess it's exercise, healthy diet, lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex."

"Yes, sex, we need that as human beings," she said. "It's healthy, it's natural, it's what we are here to do."

When it comes to physical exertion and exercise as a whole, Diaz added: "once you commit and really put in the effort, your body goes, 'Oh, it's not okay to be without this.' People say, 'My body rejects exercise.' No, it doesn't. Your mind rejects exercise."

Diaz and 35-year-old Madden were married in January in what Glamour Magazine described as an "intimate ceremony" at the Beverly Hills mansion they share. The pair had been dating for seven months and became engaged around Christmas time.

The magazine added the ceremony was attended by the Hollywood likes of Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Ritchie. Since the two walked down the aisle, Madden is rumored to have had his wife's name tattooed across his chest.

"He is more traditional than her," a source told reporters at the time about rumors of the couple's engagement first began to spread. "She really doesn't care about getting married but wants babies. He wants to get engaged and married first."

As one final bit of life advice, Diaz told Cosmopolitan: "don't deprive yourself. Have fun. Just be self-aware. If your equation is 80 percent good, 20 percent bad most of the time, then a little movement toward the center isn't going to affect you much."
