Country singing star Carrie Underwood and NHL husband Mike Fisher may be at odds over if they should have another child and the issue seems to be placing a severe strain on their marriage.

According to the National Inquirer, the two are at "loggerheads" over the issue and neither one of them shows any sign of being willing to change their position.

"Mike wants to convince Carrie to have kids close together in age, and take another year or two off," a source close to the couple told the magazine. "Carrie thinks it's unfair. He gets to keep playing hockey, and she home doing the heavy lifting."

The couple already have a newborn son together, Isaiah, born on Feb. 27 of this year.

Celebrity Laundry reports strife in their marriage comes as nothing new for the couple, adding that divorce rumors have dogged them as far back as December of 2014.

Back then, the website speculated the couple would break up even before the birth of their son.

The website adds of the 32-year-old "Jesus, Take The Wheel" singer, "Carrie Underwood is not the type of person to put up with demands from her husband, even if her husband is Mike Fisher. If he really forced her to have a second child so quickly after delivering her first child, I'm sure she -- like most women -- would say sayonara and file that divorce as soon as they possibly could."

A former "American Idol" winner, Underwood is also known for such hits as "All-American Girl," "Good Girl," "Just a Dream," "Blown Away," "Before He Cheats," "Cowboy Casanova," "Last Name," "Mama's Song" and "I Told You So," featuring Randy Travis.

Fisher has played 15 NHL seasons, the last four with the Nashville Predators.
