Those left wondering about the fate of the "Heroes" characters when the show made its less-than-welcome exit a few years ago can now get some closure.

At the very least, everyone's favorite mind-reading detective Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg) will be returning to the reboot series, as reported by Entertainment WeeklyThe reboot miniseries, which is slated to air this fall on NBC, is supposed to be ushering in a new era of heroes and their powers. The series will focus on new heroes but with a few old ones coming back for reprising roles.

As reported by EW, the series will host the return of Grunberg, Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura) and Jack Coleman (Noah Bennett). There has been no word yet on any of the other stars coming back to reprise their roles.

The series will focus on the new clan and newcomer Chuck (Zachary Levi). It is unclear what kind of role Levi will be playing with this newcomer (good or bad guy), and most of the details of the series have not been released.

But as Grunberg pointed out when previously interviewed by Rick Yeager, which was before he was confirmed to reprise his role on the series, there really needs to be more of the old mixed in with all of the new.

"I was like, 'Well, you know, it'd be great to use that cop character as an investigative tool to find new people with power.' I'm so game, so excited," Grunberg said. "I'm excited as a fan, to see what happens. If I can be a part of this, I would jump at the chance."

He also spoke about what made the show so attractive to start with.

"People loved the 'everyman' aspect of all the characters, and how any one of us could wake up in the morning and have a power," he said.
