The Season 2, Episode 7 airing of "Penny Dreadful" finds Vanessa (Eva Green) and Ethan (Josh Harnett) fleeing the scene to the Cut-Wife's cottage and growing closer. But the two are still facing the unkind reality of having to contend with a resurfacing figure from "her dark past."

According to CarterMatt, with all the witches seemingly closing in on Vanessa, the "Little Scorpion"-entitled episode will also bring several "other major secrets to life."

Showtime adds that while on the lonely moors following their flight and as their bond seems to strengthen, Vanessa and Ethan began to settle into a domestic life that well could be shattered upon the arrival of someone from her past.

At the center of yet another of the maddening mysteries are Lyle (Simon Russell Beale) and Frankenstein (Harry Treadway), who after uncovering disturbing information from Verbis Diablo relics are also forced to deal with the startling realization that "Lily (Billie Piper) isn't what she appears to be."

CarterMatt previously reported during that in the previous episode, Victory felt a bit of Lily's wrath and jealously first hand after the two had slept together. Recent times have also seen Malcolm and Evelyn become intimate, with her, perhaps unbeknown to him, clipping some of his hair and using it to make a voodoo doll.

Following their rendezvous, Evelyn ushers Malcolm back home, where he learns his wife has taken her own life. It's at that point that Evelyn's growing control over him becomes more apparent to Ethan and Vanessa as his mood hardly seems to change in the wake of the seemingly devastating news.

Episode 7 is written by John Logan and Brian Kirk and is slated to guest-star Jonny Beauchamp and Ronan Vibert.

"Penny Dreadful" airs Sunday, June 14, on Showtime.
