Bruno Mars brought so much hype to the crowd when he performed at the Super Bowl XLVIII two years ago, that the NFL is gearing up to invite him again for the Super Bowl 50 halftime show.

According to the SB Nation, Sarah Moll, director of media events for the NFL, defended the fact that Bruno Mars just performed for the NFL two years ago, something that is not very common for artists performing for the halftime show, and now he's again invited back. Moll said that they know Bruno Mars' caliber when it comes to performing and keeping the crowd entertained, and that's one reason he was a household name two years ago.

In 2014, Bruno Mars made an appearance at the Super Bowl XLVIII alongside side Red Hot Chilli Peppers, wherein he made a record of the most watched halftime show in the history of the NFL at that time.

Those stats are more than enough for the NFL administration to want him back on stage again. According to Entertainment Weekly, Bruno Mars even raised the bars of his popularity when his collaboration with Mark Ronson for the song "Uptown Funk," which made headlines.

Entertainment Weekly tried to reach the NFL and Bruno Mars' for a comment about the rumored performance, but neither gave their official statement regarding the issue.

Super Bowl 50 will take place on Feb. 7, 2016, and an official announcement has yet to be made.

According to Billboard, should Bruno Mars accept the invitation, fans could expect popular guests to take on the stage as well with the "Uptown Funk" singer.

During his performance at the 2014 Super Bowl, Mars garnered 115 million viewers based on the Nielsen survey. After Katy Perry's performance last year, he became the second most viewed performance after the latter pinned roughly around 121 million viewers.

Sarah Moll took pride on Bruno Mars performance, implying that booking him for the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show has been one of her greatest achievements.

She also added, "But I look at it really is Super Bowl XLVIII as a whole and the day really encompassed music from the beginning of the day all the way through half time."

She also said that one of the biggest factors that lead to talks about taking Bruno Mars two years ago was that she was a number one fan of the singer. All efforts were made just to initiate the talks to the NFL.
