"CSI: NY" actress Sela Ward is unloading her luxury California property.

Ward, who will soon appear in "Independence Day: Resurgence" next year, is offering her Bel-Air home for nearly $40 million, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The veteran TV and movie celebrity shares ownership of the Los Angeles estate with her high-profile investor husband Howard Sherman, noted the outlet. The listing of the property is handled by real estate agents Rayni Williams and Branden Williams of Hilton & Hyland and Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Previews International.

If the couple closes the deal at this price, they would have sold it for 10 times more the amount they paid for it twelve years ago, which was only $3.8 million, The Wall Street Journal noted, citing the actress.

Still, the luxury property may get offers for the sprawling Bel-Air estate with remarkable features. The 12,000-square-foot residence rests on eight acres of California land. The main house includes five bedrooms, a massage room and a 30-seat movie theater.

Outdoors, there's an amphitheater to host mini-concerts for 100 people during special occasions and a wonderful infinity swimming pool. Plant lovers will surely love the property's greenhouse and fruit-bearing trees. There's also an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven to complement private parties with enjoyable gourmet-cooked, Italian-inspired dishes. The grounds also boast a miniature golf course and a soothing man-made beach.

Truly, the expansive grounds were a sight to behold. The site noted that Ward felt it was the property she wanted for her children to live in when she considered the vast space outdoors.

"I grew up in nature in Mississippi. I really wanted them [my two children] to be outside more than not," she said.

The reason Ward and her husband are selling their beautiful 1940s gated and private home is that their children are all grown-up. The couple decided to move to New York instead.

Ward's exciting new role

The actress, whom fans loved in "Sisters," "House M.D." and "Once and Again," will be seen in the "Independence Day" sequel next year. Entertainment Weekly announced that Ward will portray the role of President Lanford.

Ward shared how the 2016 movie would be different from the iconic 1996 film "Independence Day" and how her character would feel the challenge.

"We've been preparing for 20 years for the inevitability of an invasion. We don't know by whom or when. So there's a very different climate interns of the tenor of the movie. Especially for the president," the 59-year-old actress said.

Will Ward have the same spotlight moment like Bill Pullman in 1996 when he was the President?
