WIth "Power" Season 3 currently in production and set to air next summer, showrunner Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has signed a two-year deal with Starz.

The deal ensures that 50 Cent will develop new projects while staying on as an executive producer on "Power."

"Starz has been the perfect partner to make 'Power' the success that it is and I am looking forward to developing many more record-breaking series with them," the rapper told Deadline.

The hit series finished Season 2 with more than 6.8 million viewers per episode, bringing it close to the most-watched season ever for an original series on Starz.

Episode 209, the Season 2 finale, brought in 2.39 million viewers alone, generating one of the network's biggest audiences in August. The Season 2 premiere set a record in June, becoming one of the most-watched episodes of an original series in the channel's history, bringing in 1.43 million viewers.

"Curtis is a wonderful hands-on producer and actor on 'Power' and we look forward to expanding his roles behind-the-camera with Starz over the next two years," managing director of Starz Carmi Zlotnik said.

The rapper stars in the hit series as a drug dealer named Kanan, who tries to take over the game after his return home from a long prison sentence. He also goes on a killing spree during his climb to power and kills his own son Shawn (Sinqua Walls).

Showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh, alongside 50, Mark Canton, Rnadall Emmett and Gary Lennon, started production for Season 3 in September in Brooklyn. They are filming 10 episodes.

Last season left fans in shock after Ghost (Omari Hardwick) split with Tasha (Naturi Naughton) and was almost caught by his mistress, federal agent Angela (Lela Loren).

Will Angela eventually catch Ghost? And if so, will she cover his tracks and keep the romance? Or will he go back to his wife and try to skip town?

Meanwhile, Tasha and LaKeisha (La La Anthony) will try to patch up their friendship after the death of Shawn, whom they had both dated before his father shot him. Will this bring the girls closer together? Or is the friendship lost forever?

"Power" will return to Starz in summer 2016. The series is distributed and sold across the world in more than 175 countries and territories.

LaKeisha and Tasha have been through a lot together. What's in store for their friendship next season?
