Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is ready to capture the World Boxing Council crown from the Puerto Rican middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in their title fight on Nov. 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

"Canelo" (45-1-1, 32 KOs), a former world boxing champion, said to Fox Deportes that he has no other goal but to triumph against the veteran boxer, and clearly believes that it is his time to shine, Boxing Scene reported.

"My mentality is that of a winner and this time it's the same thing. I'm prepared to win and I go up to the ring to get it done. There is no room for setbacks. At no time has my mind dwelled on that defeat because I know we're back, it is my moment and you have to keep a winning mentality. I'm prepared to winning and I will do so in November," the 25-year-old boxer said.

The Mexican challenger, who came out from a third-round victory against James Kirkland in May at the Minute Maid Park in Texas, per BoxRec, had only one loss in his career, and it was to no other than the undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. For many critics and boxing enthusiasts, on various reports, he seemed the man who would walk away victorious in November.

Former super welterweight titleholder Austin Trout, who lost to Alvarez in May 2013 and won against Cotto in 2012, per BoxRec, also believes "Canelo" will win. Trout told Fight Hype that although the 34-year-old Cotto is a seasoned fighter with years of experience, it may not be enough to defeat his challenger. Trout bets on "Canelo" because he is the "first person" to put him "on the floor."

However, it is also not enough for "Canelo" to hear these comments. He is actually working hard like never before, as shared by his trainer Chepo Reynoso on El Vocero, noted Boxing Scene. Team "Canelo" is obviously focused in its goal to prove that the Mexican favorite is the better man in the ring, especially with the Puerto Rican warrior's recent comments. Cotto openly criticized him on El Vocero that he "looked like a rookie" during his September 2013 fight against Mayweather at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, a separate report from Boxing Scene informed.

Yet, Reynoso shared that a new "Canelo" will be witnessed in the upcoming Cotto-Canelo bout. According to the trainer, boxing fans will see a "more mature" fighter in the ring, who is set to prove he has more experience now and will even look more "calculating" in his showdown with Cotto to nab the WBC title.
