In the Season 13, "Double Trouble" entitled fourth episode of "NCIS," an unlikely pair team up on a mission that could provide answers on a number of lingering fronts.

According to CarterMatt, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Vance (Rocky Carroll) are set to become field partners in a murder case investigation connected to a former NCIS agent Gibbs once jailed for stealing evidence.

As more and more information starts to come to light about Gibbs' well-guarded past, Design & Trend reports a mystery person from DiNozzo's (Michael Weatherly) former life will also be making their way onto the NCIS scene.

Several media outlets have already reported DiNozzo's ex Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson) will be rejoining the cast this season, appearing in her first episode sometime around the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Benoit character was last seen in season 4, when her then boyfriend was tasked with the difficult mission of bringing her father to justice after he began parading about as a doctor to conceal his true arms dealing identity.

Thus far, the new season has proven to be a trying experience for Gibbs, as he struggles to find new meaning and perspective in his life following his near death experience at the end of the last season. The last episode of the new season found him considerably going out of his way to aid an agent he was assigned to work a case with. DiNozzo later learned that the man is the son of the agent who died trying to protect Gibbs' family.

Previously, show-runner Gary Glasberg hinted to TV Guide much of the new season will be filled with viewers learning all sorts of new things about Gibbs they never knew.

"NCIS" also stars Sean Murray as Timothy McGee, Emily Wickersham as Elaine Bishop and Pauley Perrette as Abby Sciuto.
