Britney Spears confirmed on Tuesday she's hard at work on her ninth studio album.

While there have been rumors circulating about a new album coming from the 33-year-old "Oops! ... I Did It Again" singer, she finally made the news official on Twitter, according to People.

The singer posted a photo of herself sitting next to writers Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels with the caption, "Working hard and hardly working...new album...wheeeee!"

Spears made her fans curious last week when she tweeted about recording a new song, which she labeled with the hashtag "B9." This caused many fans to speculate that news of a full-fledged album was on the way.

"JUST finished recording some vox. LOVE this song. It makes ME smile, and I hope it will make you smile too...#B9," the tweet read.

Tranter and Michaels have penned recent hit songs for other artists, such as Justin Bieber's "Sorry" and Gwen Stefani's "Used To Love You," along with songs for Fifth Harmony.

No release date has been announced for the untitled upcoming album.

While the singer may be busy recording new material, she also recently announced the extension of her Las Vegas residency for the next two years.

"Okay I have some big news tonight," she said in a video posted on Instagram. "Usually I get you guys to help me count to three, but tonight I want you to help me count to two because I'm going to be in Vegas for two more years!"

Spears last released 2013's "Britney Jean," which was not received well. The album reached No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and produced the singles "Work Bitch" and "Perfume." The last single Spears was featured on was her duet "Pretty Girls" with Iggy Azalea, which was released this past summer.
