WhatsApp has been receiving a series of updates for its Android and iPhone platforms, but, this time, the app is about to get something more than a quick fix.

According to TechCrunch, a team created a virtual assistant for WhatsApp that will allow users to decide on a specific meeting place based on the group chat member's specific locations. WhatsBot uses artificial intelligence combined with Foursquare's location data and Esri's mapping technology.

WhatsBot has its own unique number, and users will have to add this number to their contact list in order to use its service. Saving the number (+44 748 134 2229) is like saving an ordinary contact on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp users will have to acknowledge their location in order for WhatsBot to gather data on the nearest meeting location possible. The coordinates provided by Esri will determine these locations and will suggest them instantly in the group chat. While WhatsBot's main purpose is to provide viable locations, it can also react to curses by warning that they will inform the user's parents. Users can take advantage of this feature by just adding the number and starting a group chat that includes the saved WhatsBot number.

The creators of WhatsBot are a team from TechCrunch Disrupt London 2015 hackaton namely Pierre Becerril, Nil Sanz and Camille Zittoun. The team decided to introduce WhatsBot during a hackaton, where members of the team took the time to discuss on the imminent revelation of the said feature.

The three founders of the said app are all users of WhatsApp, and with the constant travel they do, the motivation to create WhatsBot has certainly helped them make meet-ups easier. Becerril said, "We spend so much time on WhatsApp, we thought it would be cool to have more services."

Meanwhile, Becerril and Sanz are currently improving the app Seeusoon, a travel app for long-distance couples. Seeusoon is currently working and all Becerril and Sanz have to do is improve and add some more features to it.

Both Seeusoon and WhatsBot are created in order to make traveling easier as well as time-saving. That being said, Becerril and Sanz have dedicated all their time in improving the said applications.
