Hideo Kojima, after all, is planning a new beginning after leaving his home studio Konami. In an article by Nikkei, translated by Polygon, the "Metal Gear Solid V" creator is planning on putting up his own studio after leaving Konami.

The report also said that Kojima had talks with Sony Computer Entertainment for a possible collaboration. Sony Entertainment has yet to release a formal statement about it. Just a few months ago, the news of the Kojima - Konami rift broke online after Kojima was notably missing on the branding of the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." The acknowledgement on the work also failed to mention anything that has bearing with Kojima.

Following the incident, Konami announced that the creation of "Silent Hills," a project that Kojima and Guillermo del Torro were supposed to work on, was canceled, per Polygon. The announcement made the news of their misunderstanding even stronger. Despite the occurrence of such unfortunate events, which started as early as July, Konami denied any occurrence that Kojima left the company. In fact, Konami said that Kojima is still their employee. Last October, the New Yorker reported that Hideo Kojima already left Konami and one source confirmed this by saying that the apparent departure ceremony was held at the Kojima Productions.

Some of the reasons why the two didn't want to push through with the partnership may have something to do with Konami's plan to move to mobile games. After the creation of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," including the endless days developing and the countless funds that have been put to it, the imminent merger with mobile games did not amaze the MGSV creator. In a report by the Latin Post, Kojima is not ready to tackle the issue of putting his talent on the mobile platform. He believes that the mobile platform is too limited and could confine his creations.

If the development of "The Phantom Pain" has any bearing with the issue, it may also be due to the cost that has been allotted for the development as it has surpassed its expected time frame. Despite leaving Konami, Kojima vows to continue with the business and will work on creating more projects in the future.

Do you think Kojima's move to part ways from Konami will bring more success on his part? What do you think of his possible partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment?
