Arsenal will look to remain second in the 2015-16 English Premier League standings when they take on third-placed Manchester City on Monday at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are currently second in the standings after Week 16 of competition with 33 points from 10 wins on top of three draws and three defeats. They are currently just a point ahead of Manchester City and a draw on Monday will push the Gunners down to third place because City have better goal difference.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to keep in step with leaders Leicester City, but he is expecting a tough game against the visiting club on Monday. Manchester City will also get a huge boost, as they are set to welcome back Sergio Aguero in the crucial match.

"It will be a very tight game because if you look at the numbers since the start of the season, offensively and defensively the numbers are very close," Wenger said. "Manchester City has huge individual potential with David Silva and Sergio Aguero coming back and so we will need a top, top-level team performance."

Manchester City striker Raheem Sterling is looking forward to their big game against the Gunners. He said that they should play with sense of urgency in order to put themselves in a good position to win the Premier League, which, he said, is their main goal this season.

"The Premier League is the priority, most of the players would agree with that," Sterling told Football Focus via Goal. "We need to win the Premier League again and the Champions League would be a bonus. City are a team I definitely think can go far in that tournament."

Both Arsenal and Manchester City are behind Leicester City in the standings. The Foxes now have 38 points in 17 matches after escaping with a 3-2 win over Everton on Saturday behind the two penalty goals from star midfielder Riyad Mahrez.
