New York Police are searching for a man who robbed a Midtown Manhattan jewelry store Friday.

The man entered the Margo Manhattan jewelry store (1202 Madison Ave.) early Friday afternoon and asked a worker to see some items.

A 53-year-old woman was helping the man, who pretended to be a customer, before she was grabbed by the neck and taken into the backroom. He then tied her up and grabbed a key from her.

"He grabbed her in a headhold and pushed her down," the owner said. "He tied her hands behind her back."

The robber used the key to open up the jewelry case and help himself to the items he wanted. He then returned to the back room where the woman was still tied up and took some more items before fleeing the scene. In total, he escaped with over $54,000 in merchandise. The thief also got away with a pendant personally worn by music star Beyoncé in a music video.

The robber wasn't able to leave until another employee came back into the store. When she opened that door, he ran out. Both employees are cooperating with police and a sketch is expected to be released soon. As of right now, he is described as a black male with a Brooklyn Nets hat, blue jeans, a black T-shirt, black belt and a silver chain.

"My other production manager came back, and she clicked open the door and he ran out the door 'cause there was no other way for him to get out," the owner said.

The robber was caught on video, but police haven't made an arrest yet. They are asking for the help from the public.
