Tragedy struck on Los Angeles' legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday when a 23-year-old female was stabbed to death around 8:30 p.m. Three suspects have now been arrested by the LAPD and charged in her death.

The incident occurred after the victim, Christina Calderon, took a picture of several homeless people in the area. They soon asked that she pay them a dollar for the photo and when she refused, the transients stabbed her multiple times.

"The girl was just laying on the ground with blood everywhere," said Monta Cobbin, an employee of a nearby American Eagle store. "Everyone was trying to help her stop the blood. She was wearing jeans and I think it was a white tank top and it was covered in blood."

Calderon was with a friend when she was alleged to have been stabbed by Dustin James Kinnear, but her friend was being held down by two other homeless individuals and was unable to help. When a detective knocked on Calderon's mother's door, she already knew what the news would be.

"I said, 'My daughter's dead isn't she?' And he gave me a slight nod," said Yolonde Tassin, trying her best to hold back tears. "Her plan was to become an engineer. She didn't want to waste years. She wanted to get in there and do it right."

Calderon was able to escape from the transients, but did not make it very far before she collapsed right in front of the Walk of Fame, blood pouring out of her stomach. Calderon was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, but could not be helped in time.

Those who frequent the area say that while it still has plenty of Hollywood's glitz and glamour, there is also a grittier side to it that persists to this day. There are numerous homeless individuals who frequent the area, and police warn, those who are passing through should be careful not to provoke them.

"Just be aware of your surroundings and be careful. Generally, in my experience as a law enforcement officer, people, transients don't like their pictures being taken," LAPD Officer Cleon Joseph said. "I'm not saying that's a cause or reason for anything, but you just at the end of the day need to be careful."

On top of the pending murder charges for Kinnear, 33-year-old Jason Wolstone is being charged with assault and Brian Widdows, 34, is accused of acting as an accessory in the case.
