This week a few of reggaeton music's biggest artists made headlines for their latest hit singles and projects.

Nicky Jam announced the release of the music video for his single "Hasta el amanecer" on social media on Friday, Jan. 15.

On Jan. 14, the urban music star had fans waiting all day, as he counted down to the release of the official music video on Instagram.

The video, for his first single since his internationally popular hit single "El Perdón," premiered at 1 a.m. ET.

Right before the video's release, the star invited fans to join him in watching the premiere. He also revealed that he would be calling a few fans and joked about being open to criticism as well.

"My people, on January 14, let's stay awake until the morning," he said in a video posted on YouTube.

Reggaeton veteran Daddy Yankee continues to enjoy a successful career, despite other upcoming artists like Nicky Jam taking over the genre.

According to Billboard, the Puerto Rican rapper's single "Vaivén" is currently at the top of the Latin Airplay chart.

With "Vaivén" the rapper has now had 14 No. 1 singles, making him Latin Rhythm Airplay's most successful chart topper. He currently holds this record along with duo Wisin & Yandel.

Wisin, who released his album "Los Vaqueros: La Trilogia" on Sept. 11, 2015, has also been busy preparing work on the debut album for CNCO, the winners of Univision's "La Banda."

According to Televisa Espectaculos, the rapper, who has worked with artists like Daddy Yankee, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Ricky Martin, revealed that CNCO's album will include a variety of music styles.

"It is a union of countries and cultures, it is what keeps us growing because the people can understand that we can unite different genres," he said.

CNCO is made up of Zabdiel de Jesus, Erick Brian Colon, Richard Camacho, Joel Pimentel and Christopher Velez.
