Sergey Kovalev and Jean Pascal will collide in a rematch on Saturday at Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

Kovalev, who owns a 28-0-1 record with 25 knockout victories in his career, scored an eighth-round knockout win against Pascal in their first showdown in March last year. The 32-year-old Russian was leading on all scorecards before he rocked Pascal with vicious punches, forcing referee Luis Pabon to call it a night.

The two fighters have been throwing barbs at each other over the past several months with Pascal calling Kovalev a racist. During their final press conference on Wednesday, Pascal, who has a 30-3-1 record with 17 knockouts, launched an ugly verbal attack toward Kovalev and trainer John David Jackson while holding bananas.

"Kovy, do you want a banana? You're white. I know you're white, and it's only for black people," Pascal said via ESPN. "Do you want to take it for your black coach? He might want to eat it because he's black."

Pascal's action did not sit well with Jackson, insisting that Kovalev is not a racist. Kovalev did not address the accusation. Instead, the reigning International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organization light heavyweight champion vowed to let his first do the talking.

Kovalev said that he is treating the rematch as "personal" bout because of the continuous verbal attacks and accusations from Pascal and his camp. The unbeaten champion said that he will look to end the bout quicker than their first showdown.

"This fight is personal fight," Kovalev declared. "It is something personal for me. It is not everything true that he is speaking. I understand for why he is doing this. He is trying to make me angry. I am giving him a reminder. I didn't do my job last time. I should have stopped his career."
