Markieff Morris has finally gotten his wish after months of toiling with the Phoenix Suns.

The disgruntled forward who had called for a trade since the offseason has finally been let go after the Suns and the Washington Wizards agreed to a trade before the NBA trade deadline.

The Suns got DeJuan Blair, Kris Humphries and a protected future first round pick in exchange for Morris.

Morris was one of the many names expected to be moved before the Feb. 18 NBA trade deadline. There were multiple teams linked to the disgruntled forward, including the Detroit Pistons where his twin brother Marcus was dealt in the Summer in what is reportedly a salary dump move.

With the Wizards, Morris gets a chance to start anew as he tries to recall the form that made him one of the interesting prospects by NBA teams.

His performance significantly dipped this year and a lot of that was believed by many as a result from his resentment towards the transfer of his twin brother.

The Morris Twins asked the Suns management before that they would be willing to take pay-cuts as long as they were kept together. Things went awry when the Suns decided to trade Marcus which didn’t sit well with Keef.

Keef has been struggling and has hit the headlines more about his antics rather than his play. That included a towel-throwing incident involving former head coach Jeff Hornacek and the last skirmish he had with teammate Archie Goodwin.

It was a stormy start for Morris as well. For publicly demanding a trade, Morris drew a $10,000 fine from the NBA.

A strange twist ensued after that with Morris saying that he wanted to stay and play for the Suns before the 2015-16 NBA season got underway. Unfortunately his performance was dismal and the trade rumors took it from there.

Aside from the Pistons, other teams which could have been destinations include the Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors. It does come a bit of a surprise to find the Wizards ending up with him since the aforementioned teams were the ones in close watch.

It will be interesting as well if he can improve on his numbers.

After putting up 15.3 points and 6.2 rebounds last season, his numbers so far have shown a meager 11.2 points and 5.2 rebounds as of to date.

He signed a four-year $32 million deal with the Suns in 2014.
