The Golden State Warriors are on pace to break the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls record of 72 wins in a regular season. The team is led by reigning MVP Stephen Curry and two All-Stars in Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

However, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr called out the team to stop playing sloppy and reduce their turnovers. The team lost to the lowly Los Angeles Lakers last Sunday and almost blew a huge lead against the young Orlando Magic on Monday.

"Yeah, 46 turnovers in the last 36 hours, inexcusable. I think the team leading the league averages 12 or 13 a game so some are going to happen, but I can rattle off 10 easy that were just inexcusable. Sometimes the game comes too easy for our guys and they just think they can do anything," Kerr said.

So despite registering an NBA record 45th straight home win last Monday against the Magic, the former Bulls player was unhappy. Kerr added that he wants the Warriors to clean up their play inside the court or else they might carry their sloppiness into the postseason.

Record Breakers

It's not the first time the defending champions broke an NBA record this season. They became the first team in NBA history to start a season with 24 straight wins. Golden State could extend that streak even more as they play 14 out of their final 20 games at the Oracle Arena.

Curry is also having a record-breaking season as he became the first player to ever make 300 3-point shots in a single season. "It's still kind of surreal to have accomplished that knowing that I love to shoot the ball and I try to do it at a high level," Curry said.

There are still 20 games left and analysts are saying that the 27-year-old can possibly make 400 threes this season. Based on his average of 5.1 threes made per game this year, Curry is on pace to hit 403 at the end of the season.

Can They Beat the 95-95 Bulls Record?

As mentioned earlier, the Warriors' schedule is easier than most teams since they play 14 of the last 20 on their home floor. However, they will be facing the San Antonio Spurs three more times as well as other playoff teams like the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers.

If Golden State continues to play sloppy basketball, they can even lose their home court advantage to the Spurs, who are just three games behind. Nevertheless, Curry said that the team will remain focused and patient as they try and lock up the best record in NBA history.
