The Cleveland Browns has parted ways with troubled quarterback Johnny Manziel on Friday. Several problems off the field and inconsistencies have plagued the 22-year-old QB since he was picked 22nd overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Manziel also endured elbow issues to start the season but it's his behavior and partying problems that halted his promising career. Before his release from the Browns, LeBron James and his marketing agency severed ties with him.

The former Heisman Trophy winner released an official statement regarding his release. He thanked the Browns organization, his teammates and Cleveland fans.

"I'd like to thank the Browns for the opportunity they gave me nearly two years ago. We all hoped that we were building what could be a championship team for Cleveland. I will always remember the support I received from the organization, my teammates and especially the fans," Manziel said.

On and Off the Field Issues

When Manziel entered the league two years ago, the growing list of controversies on and off the field were very alarming. He was fined $12,000 by the NFL even before playing his first official game when he flipped the bird towards the Washington Redskins bench during the 2014 preseason.

The Texas A&M alum was then involved in a fight last November 2014, leading to several NFL veterans calling him out for his lack of commitment. The 22-year-old then entered a Pennsylvania rehabilitation and treatment facility for ten weeks in 2015. He was also involved in a domestic violence incident with his girlfriend on two separate occasions.

Leading to the day of his release on Friday, Manziel was out partying for four straight nights. It started on Monday and ended on Thursday, hitting up different bars in Hollywood every night.

What's Next for 'Johnny Football'?

In his two seasons with the Browns, Manziel made eight starts and played in a total of 14 games. He was able to complete 147 of 258 passes for 1,675 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions.

So what's next for him? The Dallas Cowboys? Jerry Jones is a fan of "Johnny Football" but the team has no interest in bringing him in this offseason. The Cowboys and other teams that might have thought of signing him are aware of his pending assault case, as well as an NFL investigation for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

However, the Cowboys are prepared to have serious discussions with Manziel as long as he fixes himself up and "[gets] his life back together." There is a huge possibility that he will not play in the NFL in the upcoming season until he has dealt with his issues.
