France and Germany face off in the semifinal of the Euro 2016 on Thursday.

The pre-tournament favorites were expected to meet in the final, but only one will compete for the top prize.

Germany enters his game having finally exorcized the "Italian" demon. The Italians had defeated Germany in every single competitive match before, but Germany managed to overcome Italy in nine rounds of the penalty shoout. They have looked decent at times though hardly like the World Cup Champs.

France finally found its groove in a dominant 5-2 win over Iceland on Sunday. France had struggled to find its form in the tournament, often looking lost and tentative at the outset of its matches and finding a way at the end of each game. But the Iceland win thoroughly dominant with Les Bleues amassing a 4-0 lead before halftime.

These sides last met competitively in the 2014 World Cup with Germany outlasting a young French side 1-0 in the quarterfinals of that tournament.

Player to Watch

Antoine Griezmann has started to look like the talisman he was expected to be heading into the tournament. He has now scored three goals in his last two games and has linked up well with Olivier Giroud, making him the man to mark for Germany.
