Good news to all HIV/AIDS patients: hope awaits them as their disease can now be fully treated, as seen in actor Charlie Sheen's revelation that an experimental drug fully suppressed his HIV.

The experimental drug, called PRO-140, has been injected into him weekly and his virus became undetectable and completely manageable.

It can be recalled that in November 2015, Sheen admitted that he was infected by the disease, as Perez Hilton reported. This was revealed after his series of absences from media and rare public appearances.

Though Sheen's condition was hard to admit, he was eventually forced to make the admission due to the threats he received against getting it out to public knowledge.

Sheen first thought that his suffering was due to a brain tumor, but a diagnosis revealed it to be from HIV.

Hard days came by after Sheen's admission, but a positive turn of events followed when a company called CytoDyn offered him to undergo an experimental clinical trial. And today, he claimed that hehas fully recovered now from the disease.

The "Three and a Half Men" actor was amazed - he claims to feel wonderful now compared to those calamitous days after he found out about his condition. He thanked CytoDyn for his development and recovery.

This news is not just good for Charlie but also for people with similar situations. PRO-140 is a promising treatment for people with HIV/AIDS.

Different from traditional antiretroviral therapy (ART), which should be taken every day, PRO-140 can only be injected weekly. Charlie further claimed that while other HIV sufferers experienced difficult side effects from the drug, he was just doing fine. He said he hasn't felt anything. It was just a little bit of fatigue when he was injected with it. But for now he feels great, according to the Daily Mail.

As of this time, only Charlie Sheen claimed to have been fully cured from HIV. With that, greater hope awaits other sufferers.
