When Deadpool, the movie about merc with a mouth, hit the theaters earlier this year, every superhero movie has been forgotten for a while. After such tenacity in action and laughter with Deadpool's antics, fans are hoping for a second one that will continue the anti-hero story. Now, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds has given some shed on what is happening and plans for the sequel.

According to Gizmodo, Ryan Reynolds told the media that they are actually close to filming the second film. He shared how the first movie director Tim Miller has left the franchise but said only positive things about him. Meanwhile, John Wick director, David Leitch has been tapped to replace Miller.

Reynolds started by saying that "Everybody was just a fan of his work. He's just a guy who's so muscular with his action," indicating his fascination of Leitch's work. He continued on saying that Leitch's great side is that he can make a movie with minimal budget look like it was shot "10-15 times" of what should it have been cost.

Furthermore, Techno Buffalo added that Reynolds also revealed how the franchise will continue with new villains, Cable and Domino. On the other hand, Simon Kinberg, producer of the film, indicated that their plans for the sequel is not to make the sequel bigger. He expounded it by saying that "We have to resist the temptation to make it bigger in scale and scope, which is normally what you do when you have a surprise hit movie."

Nonetheless, Kinberg said that the sequel is supposedly to be provocative and startling while keeping its freshness and authenticity.

The production for Deadpool 2 hasn't started yet and with that, fans should expect that Deadpool 2 might be slated for a 2018 release.
