The current season of The Big Bang Theory is rumored to be the last one. Fans are disappointed but reports of a new lead getting cast in the series and the show to be continued have raised mixed feelings.

As per University Herald, Jim Parsons, famous for playing the role of Sheldon Cooper, wants to pursue his career in movies.  This is the main reason he reportedly will take his leave from The Big Bang Theory.

Jim will star in the movie, scheduled to release on December 25, Hidden Figures with renowned actress' Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer. Furthermore, he will also work alongside Matt Bomer and Mark Ruffalo in the upcoming film The Normal Heart.

Rumors are rife that Jim Parson is still double minded about his decision to completely leave the show. According to TVLine, Jim has mentioned previously that if The Big Bang Theory showrunners and the network decide to continue the series then he is on board.

Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny, also shared the same sentiments as Jim. CBS president Glenn Geller mentioned that he believes the cast is interested in working for more seasons.

Glenn Geller also stated that Warner Bros will also make decisions about making further seasons of the series. As long as the show fetches good ratings there is hope that it will continue.

Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco, the main 3 cast members of the show are currently charging $1 million per episode as their fee.

Moving on to new spoilers about the show, the Spoilers Guide revealed that Laurie Metcalf will be back. She plays the role of Sheldon's mother and can be seen on the winter premiere of The Big Bang Theory.

The question remains as how much time Jim Parsons can give the TV show with his ongoing movie projects? Will he ultimately decide to leave The Big Bang Theory for good?
