During the launch of UK-India Year of Culture 2017, Kate Middleton stole the show with her sparkly look. The duchess donned on a sparkling ensemble for the special Buckingham Palace reception.

According to E! News, Kate chose a head-to-toe sparkly metallic dress by Erdem as she accompanied her husband Prince William and Britain's Queen Elizabeth II during the evening. The event took place in recognition of the 70th anniversary of Indian independence and to launch the UK-India Year of Culture 2017.

A true fashionista, Kate Middleton did not forget her accessories. The completed her look with a pair of glittering Oscar de la Renta heels. Since the event highlighted India's relation with the UK, Kate chose a pair of earrings by Indian designer Anita Dongre.

As per Independent, Kate Middleton and her royal in-laws welcomed several high-profiles guests including politicians, diplomats, and actors. The event focused on honoring the sight, smells, tastes and culture of India.

Attendees included former India cricket captain Kapil Dev, musician Anoushka Shankar and her husband film director Joe Wright, actress Nina Wadia, and "The Big Bang Theory" actor Kunal Nayyar with former Miss India wife Neha Kapur.  Nayyar admitted he was overwhelmed to attend the event.

"What a dream, we were driving through the gates, I've never been here and it's really a dream come true for us, E! News quoted Nayyar. "I don't know what to think, I'm a little overwhelmed."

Head chef at Buckingham Palace's kitchens, Mark Flanagan joined Uday Salunkhe, executive chef at Veeraswamy to develop a perfect meal for the guests. The menu itself took six weeks to finalize. A perfect juxtaposition of India-UK cuisine, the menu featured Raj puri, 'boondi' chocolate rock, fried chickpea flour kernels covered in chocolate alongside salmon blinis and rhubarb and creme brulee tartlets.
