The first trailer for Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" has been revealed.

Like most early teasers for Nolan's films, this one gives very little away about the actual movie. It starts off with a montage showing archival footage from some of the greatest space achievements with a monologue by Matthew McConaughey throughout.

"We count these moments ... when we dared to aim higher, to break barriers -- to reach for the stars," McConaughey says at one point in the trailer. "To make the unknown known."

"We count these moments as our proudest achievements, but we lost all that," McConaughey continues. "Perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. That we've barely begun and that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, that our destiny lies above us."

As the short clip comes to an end, quick shots from the actual film are revealed; however, there is nothing from the film's plot.

According to a synopsis released by Paramount, "Interstellar" follows a "group of explorers [making] use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and [to] conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage."

The story is credited to theoretical physicist Kip Thorne of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech); the story is reportedly based on his theories of gravity fields and wormholes.

The cast features a number of major stars including Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, Michael Caine, John Lithgow and Matt Damon.

"Interstellar" is slated for a November 2014 release date and is Nolan's first film since "The Dark Knight Rises."
