The first images of "Thor: Ragnarok" is out and fans couldn't be more surprised. Not only the Norse god had a haircut but Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced their first female villain in the form of Hela, played by Cate Blanchett.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Blanchett explained that Hela is the Goddess of Death. She has been locked away for millennia and gets unleashed during the events of "Thor: Ragnarok".

Needless to say, Hela is angry and out for revenge. Blanchett stated that her character in "Thor: Ragnarok" will take any means possible to prevent getting locked away again.

Apart from Hela bringing in an interesting and major story arc in "Thor: Ragnarok", she is MCU's first female villain. Blanchett stated that it is quite ridiculous that even in 2017 iconic villain roles tend to go to male actors.

"There's so much untapped potential villainy in women," EW quoted Blanchett. "It's really exciting. I think finally it's beginning to be acknowledged that women and men want to see a diverse array of characters, and that's race, gender across the sexual spectrum."

Blanchett feels like as a woman, the opportunities to play a villainous character don't come too often. She believes there's a revolution happening from within Marvel with "Thor: Ragnarok".

Talking more about her character in "Thor: Ragnarok", the actress announced that Hela's headdress is a weapon. Also, she can manifest weapons out of different parts of her body. All hell breaks loose when Hela kind of takes control of Asgard away from Loki.

As previously reported by Latin Post, the March edition of EW's cover is donned with the handsome Norse god. However, the image teased some major makeover changes that will appear in Chris Hemsworth's character "Thor: Ragnarok".

The character's signature luscious blond mane is gone. Along with the new haircut, the Norse god is also wielding a new kind of weapon, instead of the iconic hammer, Mjölnir. Also, Thor can be seen wearing gladiator armor in the cover photo.

Plot spoilers revealed that Hela successfully sends Thor to planet Sakaar in "Thor: Ragnarok". Thor is forced to become a gladiator in Sakaar and reunites one of his Avenger's teammate Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo.
