Alejandrina Giselle Guzman, the daughter of the notorious drug lord 'El Chapo', has tied the knot with her partner in a secret ceremony. That is, until a video of her wedding was posted on social media sites.

The stunning bride arrived in a white, bulletproof car at Culiacan Cathedral which was cordoned by yellow tape to make sure that the wedding was a bit more private.

She married the nephew of another Mexican drug lord in a sophisticated and lavish ceremony complete with armored luxury cars, fireworks, and yellow police tape.

Insider reports that Giselle Guzman married Edgar Cazaras in a private and closed-door ceremony in Culiacan Cathedral on Jan. 25 in Mexico.

Alejandrina Gisselle Guzman is one of the many daughters of the famous Mexican Kingpin and drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman who is currently serving life imprisonment in the American supermax prison, ADX Florence.

Meanwhile, the groom, Edgar Cazaras, is the nephew of Blanca Margarita Cazares, an alleged cartel money launderer who is popularly known in the Mexican underworld as "The Empress," according to local media in Mexico.

Moreover, The Empress of the Mexican cartel was sanctioned in 2007 by the U.S. treasury for "sophisticated money laundering apparatus" and her links to the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most powerful, influential, and notorious cartels in Mexico.

Pictures posted on social media show Alejandrina Guzman in the traditional white princess gown.

However, Mexican media reported that the ceremony was guarded by heavily armed men, and that the drug cartel provided security for the event.

The photos posted on social media also showed some private moments like the first dance of the bride and the groom, as well as the mother-daughter dance. The mother of Alejandrina is the first wife of El Chapo, Maria.

According to local reports, the wedding was presided by a priest who is close to the Guzman family and it ended with an expensive and grand display of fireworks. In attendance during the ceremony was Ovidio Guzman, the brother of the bride, who made headlines last year in October when he was caught by security forces.

However, he was quickly released when Mexican armed forces were astounded by a large number of cartel gunmen. Surprisingly, the wedding was held when the activities of Mexico's drug cartel is showing no signs of slowing down.

According to The Guardian, the country has witnessed more than 35,000 murders just in 2019 alone. That's an increase of 2.7 percent over the previous years. The marriage of Alejandrina and Cazares is only a sign that the drug cartels in the country still have influence even though the family is linked to some serious and heinous crimes, they continue to go about life as just normal people.

A wedding with heavily armed men who are members of the El Chapo drug cartel, luxurious bulletproof cars, and a yellow cordoned tape are enough to prove the influence and power of the cartel.
