Jessica Simpson recently gave advice to everyone who sees plastic surgery as a quick and easy method for looking fabulous.

Jessica Simpson's Open Book

Jessica shared some content from her book, properly titled, Open Book, which debuted on February 4. She stated how plastic surgery cannot cure what is ailing us inside. She emphasized the importance of how a person feels about their body. She explained how difficult plastic surgery was for her emotionally, even after her scars had healed.

In 2015, she had 'tummy tuck' surgery. It was her 35th birthday gift to herself. During that time, she disregarded her doctor's advice and still went on with the surgery. She was informed of the incredible risk and that she could die from the procedure.

Primarily, she planned on undergoing a partial 'tummy tuck'. However, due to her insecurity with her saggy skin, she still went for the full 'tummy tuck' instead.

The full 'tummy tuck' surgery usually lasts for 2 hours. Unfortunately, the results of the surgery were not good. She was soon admitted to the hospital for nine days following the procedure. She shared how she contracted an infection as a result of the surgery. She told the story of how she vomited a lot, and that felt that she might just bust her stitches. On top of that, her doctors also informed her that she will need to undergo a blood transfusion.

According to an article from Latin Times, after giving birth to her child, her post-delivery weight gain affected her sexual relationship with her husband, Eric Johnson.

Currently, Jessica Simpson is physically and emotionally better. Her book includes her multiple battles with alcoholism and her insecurities. The book also tells of her marriage and her life as a mother of three.

Risks of Plastic Surgery

According to an article from the Very Well Health website, there are many risks to plastic surgery.

One of the risks of plastic surgery is the poor cosmetic results of the procedure. This is one of the greatest fears a plastic surgery patient can have. There is always a chance that a plastic surgery procedure can make the appearance of a person worse.

Also, plastic surgery can result in a permanent and very unattractive scar. Most of the time, scarring is unpredictable.

However, there are ways to prevent scarring after plastic surgery. The doctor's instructions should be strictly followed to reduce the chances of scarring.

Another risk of plastic surgery is nerve damage. During surgery, there is a likelihood of nerve damage to the person's face. Nerve damage on the face can affect a person's ability to make facial expressions, speak, and even eat or drink.

Just like the case of Jessica Simpson, another risk from plastic surgery is infection. Proper wound care can help prevent this problem, but infections can be tricky.

Also, there is a chance that a patient can suffer from hematoma. Hematoma is the accumulation of blood outside a blood vessel. This results in the appearance of swollen areas on or near the places where the plastic surgery was conducted. Bruises may also be seen in the area where the procedure took place.
