The third season of the drama-filled, murderous, and thrilling Spanish web series just dropped on Netflix this past weekend. Sadly, it will be the last season we'll get to see our favorite Las Encinas students lie, seduce, and romance their way to get what they want.

The cast of Elite, which includes Itzan Escamilla (Samuel), Miguel Bernardeau (Guzman), and Alvaro Rico (Polo), has just confirmed it will be the final season they will all star in. And honestly, I can't accept that.

Elite debuted on Netflix in 2018 and quickly became one of the most-binged series on the platform. Fans just can't get enough of all the drama that goes down at Las Encinas.

The Spanish thriller doesn't shy away from anything---featuring scenes of murder, incest, and steamy bedroom scenes. It's safe to say the show is quite familiar with scandal.

Part of the show's success was due to the irresistible actors and actresses in the cast. All that will change when season 4 drops and our favorites are nowhere to be found.

A media outlet broke the story in January, claiming the series would see a complete cast overhaul for the next installation.

Georgina Amoros (who portrays Cayetana) and Alavaro Rico (who plays Polo) confirmed the news, saying season 3 offers a definitive ending to the stories of the characters.

Seasons 4 and 5 are reportedly in production. Netflix has yet to confirm whether the next season will be set in Las Encinas.

*SPOILER ALERT* If you haven't finished the third season of Elite, you should stop reading right here.

Elite's third installment revolves around a new murder in town--- because what is Las Encinas without a little murder mystery?

The season jumps between the present and flashforwards of the horrific night in question which involved a broken bottle of expensive-looking champagne... and Polo's death.

Every episode shows the Inspector (Ainhoa Santamaria) question the students over Polo's murder. It also shows everything that leads up to the night in question.

In between the flashforwards, the students of Las Encinas continue to face problems of their own.

  • Guzman (Miguel Bernardeau) and Samuel (Itzan Escamilla) find it impossible to be content with Polo's freedom.

  • Nadia (Mina El Hammani) and Lu (Danna Paola) fight over a scholarship in Columbia.

  • Rebeca (Claudia Salas) teams up with Valerio (Jorge Lopez) to run their drug empire when Rebe's mother is thrown in jail.

  • Cayetana (Georgina Amoros) manipulates her relationship with Polo to keep it from falling apart.

  • Carla (Ester Exposito) struggles to find her freedom under the thumbs of the men in her life.

  • Ander (Aron Piper) puts a strain on his relationship with Omar (Omar Ayuso) after he is diagnosed with leukemia.

So Who Killed Polo?

Everyone at the graduation party could have done it, but the broken champagne bottle eventually fell in Lu's hands after she confronts Polo in the bathroom.

Polo attended the party to tell Lu that she and Nadia were both receiving the scholarship. Lu, who was too distressed about the loss of her scholarship, accidentally stabs Polo in the heart.

Polo stumbles out of the bathroom and crashes through a window, falling to the first floor.

Aware of the crime and its perpetrator, the remaining students of Las Encinas band together to protect Lu and to put an end to all the suffering caused by Marina's death.

Everyone touches the bottle to leave fingerprints, throwing investigators off. The group also claim they saw other people follow Polo into the bathroom, throwing suspicion off of Lu.

The students all walk free in the end.

Did They Get Happy Endings?

Rebeca comes home to her mother preparing to start the drug empire once again. Cayetana rejects a sponsorship from Polo's mothers and is seen mopping the floors at Las Encinas like her mother used to.

Carla recruits Valerio to run her winery while she goes abroad to pursue her studies. She and Samuel part ways.

Nadia and Lu head to New York to study at Columbia. Nadia sends Guzman a promise to come back and continue where they left off.

Omar, who had planned to join Nadia and Lu in New York, returns to Ander just as he learns he is in remission from his cancer.

Rebeca, Samuel, Ander, and Guzman come back to Las Encinas to finish their last year. Omar also attends the school as a first-time student.
