Since the rise of mobile applications, Google Play has been home to many applications covering needs of users from fitness to education. In Latin America, a large number of mobile applications have been developed. Some of them can even be considered the best there is in their categories.

Users will then receive a percentage of the profit when someone wishes to acquire rights for their photo. "Sell pictures and get more than likes," the app said on its Google Play page.

Capptu is developed by Mexicans Manuel Villegas and Héctor León. With over 100,000 downloads on Google Play, this mobile application came from the idea of providing stock photos that go beyond American lifestyle. It captures Latin images with signature Latin styles.

USOUND

Now with hundreds of thousands of downloads, uSound for Samsung offers improved sound quality to its users, turning the regular earphones and headphones to quality sound amplifiers.

It was aimed toward people with hearing problems, but it can also be used by any type of person since it examines a level of sound suited for each user. It helps detect signs or risks of hearing loss, innovating in terms of communication and education.

Ezequiel Escobar, the app's creator, was recognized as one of the 10 innovators under 35 in Argentina. He has also received a variety of other awards.

HABLALO

Free translator application Hablalo is developed by Asteroid Technologies. It works as a type of translator for people with hearing problems.

As the 18-year-old developer Mateo Salvatto said, it aims to "break the barriers of communications." The developer is a son of a teacher for the deaf, so he understood the needs of people with hearing disabilities.

The app works as a text-to-voice translator, so it can communicate verbally to its target users. It has also gained awards from Google. So far, Hablalo has earned over 100,000 download and a rating of 4.4 stars on Google Play.

DUOLINGO

Duolingo is developed for learning foreign languages such as English, French, Italian, and others. It was created by Guatemalan Luis Von Ahn  and was launched to the public in 2011.

The app can be accessed without charge, but it also offers a premium service for a fee. It offers a variety of lessons to teach foreign vocabulary, using tools from exercises, flashcards, and multiple choice questions.

Duolingo is probably one of the most famous foreign language learning apps on Google Play as the mobile application became a meme for sending somewhat passive aggressive message to its inactive users.

At present, it has millions of downloads and a rating of 4.7 stars on Google Play.
