A mother from the United Kingdom sent a warning to all parents

after her son's deadly TikTok trend. The "fake tongue piercing" stunt resulted in doctors doing multiple extractions to get magnets from her 11-year-old son's stomach. The doctors also had to remove inches of the kid's intestine.

The patient, identified as Ellis Tripp, is in critical condition. Based on the report of The Independent, Tripp swallowed five magnetic balls, which eventually infiltrated his digestive tract.

Son Almost Killed by TikTok Challenge

According to The New York Post, on her social media account, the mother of Ellis, Amy Clarke, stated that she is in a nightmare. She also added that the Tiktok trend could have killed her son if the magnetic beads have stayed longer in his stomach.

Moreover, the disastrous experience started after the distraught mother rushed her son to a hospital after he suffered severe stomach pains for more than a week. Based on the initial assessment of the doctors, they suspected that the appendix of the child ruptured. But they were shocked when their operating instruments attracted the magnets in his stomach during their examination.

In addition, the 11-year-old boy was transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where doctors successfully removed three of what they called "Magneto beads." Ellis had to undergo a six-hour procedure the next day to extract the two stragglers. The process required surgeons to remove five inches of his intestine.

Furthermore, the grandmother of Ellis, Sue Davies, stated that what happened to his grandson was a truly horrific experience. She also added that they never thought that this could happen to them. Davies also added that the tiny "Magneto beads" have done so much damage to Ellis.

A TikTok Nightmare

It is still not yet clear how the balls ended up in the digestive system of Ellis, but Clarke suspects that her son had swallowed them while he attempted to do a TikTok challenge. She added that in the challenge, kids want to have a fake tongue piercing by placing magnets on the tops and bottoms of their lickers. However, in her son's case, it went catastrophic, Daily Mail reported.

On the other hand, the hospital revealed that the stunt resulted in five admissions to the medical facility within a week. They have attended to the same condition in the past few days, which means that the trend is dangerous.

Clarke warned other parents about the dangers of the stomach-destroying stunt. She also stated that the app should have educational or childcare settings to avoid any future damage.

Clarke also shared that the next 24 hours are going to be crucial for Ellis and their family. They are still waiting on how Ellis' body will respond to the infection after his intestine burst.

Unfortunately, the trending application, TikTok, has become a magnet for dangerous stunts in the past. It ranges from the potentially life-threatening "skull breaker" challenge to the "Cha-Cha-Slide challenge," where they swerve their car crazily in time with the music.
