Radio and television personality Bobby Bones pushed himself to his limits as he films his new TV series "Breaking Bobby Bones," a show where he is the host and the executive producer.

The show will feature Bobby Bones facing his fears as he takes on different adventures across America, Hollywood Life reported.

People noted that Bones being a mentor on ABC's "American Idol" and his skills as the host of his iHeartRadio program "The Bobby Bones Show," and his podcast "BobbyCast" paved the way for the creation of "Breaking Bobby Bones."

'Breaking Bobby Bones' Premieres on Memorial Day

"Breaking Bobby Bones" premieres on May 31, at 10 p.m. on the National Geographic channel. Bones noted that his idea for the show is a mixture of what he wants to do: going out and meeting other people and "hearing their story, be funny, and share my story."

He also said that the show is inspired by several shows such as "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "An Idiot Abroad," and "Jackass."

"I took small elements from these shows, but then I took a whole lot of what I do," said Bones. The show will feature various adventures of Bobby Bones, meeting different people with unique jobs, skills, and abilities.

The 41-year-old radio and TV personality said that "Breaking Bobby Bones" will feature stories from people who have been through a lot, came from a tough background or experienced struggles in their life.

Despite the challenges he has experienced in his new TV show, Bones noted that he learned a lot while filming "Breaking Bobby Bones."

"If anything it was just cemented more into me, just how similar we all are," Bones said.

Bones noted that going out with people from different backgrounds with different political views and in various places, the wall that divides people "seems to go away." Bones added that the television show also taught him a lot more about himself.

Sneak Peak on 'Breaking Bobby Bones'

Apart from the connection of Bones to his guests on the show, "Breaking Bobby Bones" will also feature different thrilling adventures of the radio host.

Bones experienced hanging off a rope 4,000 feet in the air over the Grand Canyon. He said he contemplated the meaning of life and wondering how he found himself in the situation.

"I had to learn how to do it because the guy I was with, that was his job," said Bones. In a sneak peek of the series, Bobby Bones returned to his hometown in Arkansas and was challenged to dismantle a giant yellow school bus and turn it into scrap.

Bones also revealed that he was hurt while filming "Breaking Bobby Bones." He noted that he was injured a few times, but he "didn't have to quit." Bones added that luckily, there were no bones broken this season.
