Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's marriage was dragged into Will Smith's Oscars drama after the ex-NBA player mentioned his regrets about his previous marriage.

On Tuesday, Lamar reflected on the Oscars incident on Instagram with a photo of Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith at the awards ceremony, according to Hola.

In his lengthy caption, the former basketball player talked about a husband's "responsibility" to protect his wife and said Smith "loves his wife."

Lamar noted that he does not condone violence but said, "I was told love covers a multitude of sins." He then sympathized with Jada and Smith.

"She was hurting, it is a husband's responsibility to protect his wife. That is what he vowed to God and her," Lamar said.

According to Lamar, Smith owes the public "zero explanation" as to why he chose to hit Chris Rock.

"Would I have hit him? NO but he did what a husband is called to do. Protect his wife from anything and anyone who causes her pain," he added.

The former NBA star then reflected on his previous marriage.

"Had I protected my wife versus mentally, emotionally, and spiritually hurting her, I may still be married," Lamar said.

He then urged the public to use Will Smith's slapping incident with Chris Rock at the Oscars as a lesson to set boundaries and learn to be humble. Lamar Odom further noted that people should learn how to forgive each other.

Lamar Odom on Khloe Kardashian

It was not the first time Lamar Odom voiced how he felt for Khloe Kardashian following their split. After he was evicted from the "Celebrity Big Brother" house last month, Lamar told E! News that he wanted to take his ex-wife out for lunch.

He also told "Celebrity Big Brother" host Julie Chen Moonves that he missed Khloe and hoped to see the reality star "soon."

The former NBA player also made his feelings for the "Keeping up with the Kardashians" star clear throughout season 3 of Celebrity Big Brother.

"I had a beautiful wife. We were together every day until we got married... I never thought about getting married again. I didn't treat that good woman right," Lamar said during the February 14 episode.

Although Lamar Odom wanted to reconnect with the Good American founder, he noted that he was not trying to get any response from Khloe Kardashian.

Khloe Kardashian Speaks on How She Feels About Lamar Odom

Khloe Kardashian is not pleased with her ex-husband's public pleas for reconciliation. A source told OK Magazine that Khloe has zero desire in meeting up with the former NBA player.

"It's bad enough that he's saying all this soppy stuff on TV, but he's also blowing her phone up and trying to wear her down through the few mutual friends they have left," the insider told the outlet.

The source also revealed that Lamar started speaking about Khloe in January when the reality star's boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, fathered a child with another woman.

The insider said Lamar told reporters at that time that he would hug Khloe if he saw her amid the scandal.

According to the source, Khloe Kardasian was sorry Lamar could not seem to move on, "but she's annoyed about constantly being part of his narrative."

"At this point, it's like, what part of 'we're done' do you not understand? It pains Khloe to put it in such brutal language, but no other message seems to get through to Lamar," the source added.
