Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo received heartfelt sympathy from football fans on Tuesday, after the Liverpool fans held applause for the football player following his son's death.

The Liverpool fans filled the Anfield Stadium with applause during the seventh minute of Manchester United's match, according to a Mirror News report.

The heartfelt moment was captured on video, showing that the fans clapped together for the Manchester United forward.

Another video showed fans waving Ronaldo's football jersey in an effort to sympathize with Ronaldo.

The Liverpool fans also sang the chorus of the song "You'll Never Walk Alone" that filled the Anfield Stadium while Ronaldo's team are still competing.

Mirror noted that the gesture from the Liverpool fans was planned ahead of Manchester United's match against Liverpool. A post from the Reds' Facebook fan page urged the attendees of the game to show respect to Cristiano Ronaldo and his family by taking part in the round of applause.

"Rivalries should be set aside in heart-breaking circumstances such as these. You'll Never Walk Alone, CR7 Jr.," the post reads.

Manchester United and Liverpool Players also paid tribute to Ronaldo on Tuesday.

According to Bleacher Report, players from both clubs wore black armbands during the game.

Ronaldo was away from Manchester United during Tuesday's match.

Manchester United, Clubs, Sympathize With Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United and other footballers extended their thoughts to Ronaldo following his son's death.

"Your pain is our pain. Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time, Cristiano," Machester United told their forward, per CNN.

Manchester City, a rival club of Manchester United, also hopped in, to comfort Ronaldo by sending their deepest condolences to the player and his wife, Georgina, per CNN.

Brazilian football legend Pele offered prayers and condolences to Ronaldo, adding that may God comfort their hearts and enlighten "every step of the way" for them.

Ronaldo's former teammate from Real Madrid, James Rodriguez, offered strength to the Manchester United forward and his family.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his wife Georgina Rodriguez took to Instagram to announce the death of their son, which they describe as the greatest pain that any [parent] can feel.

"We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you," Ronaldo and Rodriguez said.

Ronaldo also noted that the birth of their daughter gives them the strength to live the moment with strength and happiness.

It can be recalled that Ronaldo and Rodriguez announced in October that they were expecting twins, with Rodriguez's due date expected in the Spring of 2022.

Cristiano Ronaldo's first child with Rodriguez is named Alana Martina, born in November of 2017, CNN noted. The Manchester United Star is also a father to fraternal twins Eva and Mateo, welcomed through a surrogate in June of 2017.

Ronaldo is also the father of the 11-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. from a previous partner that was not publicly named.
