Johnny Depp's attorney, Camille Vasquez, welcomed good news on Tuesday after she was made a partner at her law firm following the conclusion of the actor's defamation case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

International law firm Brown Rudnick announced on Tuesday that Vasquez was promoted to partner after she showed her skills during the litigation in Depp's trial, Fox News reported.

"We are pleased to announce that Camille Vasquez has been elevated to partner. She was a key member of the litigation team that won a jury verdict last week for actor #JohnnyDepp in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard," law firm Brown Rudnick tweeted.

The firm's CEO, William Baldiga, said that new partners are usually announced at the end of the fiscal year. However, he noted that they left the said tradition in the light of last week's victory.

"Camille's performance during the Johnny Depp trial proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step now," Baldiga said. The CEO added that they are "extremely proud" of Vasquez and they look forward to what she will accomplish as the firm's new partner.

Camille Vasquez also expressed her gratitude for the new role that was given to her. "I am delighted that Brown Rudnick has given me its full vote of confidence by having me join the partnership," Vasquez noted.

She furthered that she is proud of the team she led that showed teamwork and collaboration.

Camille Vasquez was a part of a large team of attorneys on Depp's case, but she played a big role in the actor's legal win, alongside veteran litigator Ben Chew.

Amber Heard Might Be Booted Out From 'Aquaman 2' - Rumor

A rumor circulated on Tuesday that Amber Heard may be booted out from "Aquaman 2," although she was set to reprise her role, Mera, in the franchise. The Direct noted that Heard filmed most of her scenes in London during the Fall of last year.

However, a reliable source, KC Walsh, tweeted a rumor that Heard may be removed from the franchise, showing a text message that said about a meeting and all of Amber Heard's scenes will be deleted from Aquaman 2.

Walsh's rumor also suggested that Mera may die during childbirth at the start of the sequel.

However, it should be noted that neither of the rumors was confirmed by Warner Brothers.

DC Chief on Amber Heard's role in 'Aquaman 2'

Heard previously indicated in the defamation trial that she believed that her role in "Aquaman 2" was scaled back.

However, DC Chief Walter Hamada explained that Heard's role in the film was determined in the early development of the script, which took place in 2018.

Hamada also noted during his deposition that "Aquaman" was built around the character of Arthur and Orm who were played by actors Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson, respectively.

Hamada also shared that there was a concern and would be better to have a recasting on Heard's role, contending that Jason Momoa and Amber Heard did not have a lot of chemistry and that it took a lot of effort to make that evident in the first installment of the film.
