Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's Los Angeles Penthouse up for Sale | Here's How Much It Costs to Own It
After Johnny Depp won his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, the couple's former penthouse in Los Angeles was put on the market.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the lavish apartment where Depp and Heard spent much of their 15-month marriage is up for sale. The penthouse is one of the five units the actor owned at the top of the famous Eastern Columbia Building in Los Angeles.
The said property is available for purchase at $1,765,000. The condo unit is reportedly a one-bedroom, two-bathroom two-story residence with about 1,780 square feet of space.
Depp's penthouses at the Eastern Columbia Building have been featured prominently during the trial of the actor's defamation lawsuit against Heard.
According to ET, Depp listed and sold all five penthouses for a combined $12.78 million following his divorce from Heard in 2016.
While all five penthouses were reportedly interconnected when the former couple lived there, the units were subsequently divided after the "Pirates of the Caribbean star" sold them.
Amber Heard's Sister Opens up After Johnny Depp Won His Defamation Case
Despite the verdict, Amber Heard's sister, Whitney Henriquez, said she was "proud" of her sister, the Independent reported. On Sunday, Heard's sister wrote on Instagram about how she felt after the jury vested the decision.
"I still stand with you, sissy. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow I will always be proud of you for standing up for yourself," Henriquez said.
Heard's sister also expressed how proud she was of Amber for being the "voice of so many who can't speak to the things that happen behind closed doors."
Henriquez then said that they all acknowledged that the "Aquaman" star's battle with "The Pirates of the Caribbean" actor would be an "uphill."
She then noted that she was honored to testify for her sister and would do it a million times over, adding that the truth will always be on Amber's side.
"I'm so sorry that it wasn't reflected in the decision made by this jury, but I will never give up on you, and neither will anyone who stands with you. Forever by your side," Henriquez said.
Johnny Heard and Amber Heard Defamation Trial
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have battled over a 2018 op-ed the actress wrote for the Washington Post, calling herself a domestic violence survivor.
The piece did not mention Depp by name, but the actor claimed he was booted from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise due to the "clear implication" that he was the abuser in his ex-wife's op-ed.
Depp also alleged that Heard was the actual "perpetrator" of the violent encounters that damaged their relationship. He asked for $50 million in damages, while the "Aquaman" actress has filed a $100 million counterclaim against the actor, who she divorced in 2017, for nuisance.
On 1 June, a jury at a court in Fairfax, Virginia shared their verdicts, finding that Heard had defamed Depp on all three counts.
The jury awarded Johnny Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. Amber Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages but no punitive damages.
