Tiger Woods' net worth 2022 has reached billions based on Forbes' estimate of the golf icon's net worth.

CBS News reported that Woods is joining Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and NBA icon Michael Jordan as the only known billionaire athletes around the world.

Woods' net worth is believed to be at least $1 billion after he has won $121 million in prize money, which is more than any other golfer in history and during the prime of his career.

He was also placed in the top spot in Forbes' highest-paid athletes for 10 consecutive years until 2012.

Less than 10 percent of Woods' career earnings come from his golf winning, with most of his wealth stemming from endorsements with brands such as Nike, Gatorade, Rolex, and Monster Energy.

He is also identified as a partner in SPAC announced in January, adding that he is an investor alongside British billionaire Joe Lewis' Tavistock Group, golfing rival Ernie Els, and Justin Timberlake in NEXUS Luxury Collection, which is a group of clubs and resorts.

LeBron James and Michael Jordan Net Worth

NPR report noted that James is the first active NBA player to achieve billionaire status. He raked in just over $121 million.

Meanwhile, Jordan is the richest athlete of all time, often referred to as the greatest player to ever take the court.

However, the NBA legend did not break a billion until after he had retired from the NBA. Jordan currently have a net worth of $1.7 billion, which is down from $2.1 billion in 2020.

It was attributed to endorsements with Nike, Gatorade, Haines, and investments in the Charlotte Hornets basketball team.

Meanwhile, James' wealth largely comes from his business ventures such as Nike, Walmart, Beats by Dre, and the Blaze Pizza chain.

Throughout his basketball career, James brought in more than $385 million. He was first drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003 and signed a four-year $18.8 million contract.

In 2018, the Lakers signed James for a whopping $153 million.
