A new SNAP Benefits 2022 update has been released for the states of California and Texas. A schedule for July 2022 has been issued for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients.

SNAP benefits payments provide monthly food assistance to low-income households that meet eligibility guidelines.

Go Banking Rates reported that CalFresh, California's version of the SNAP benefits, will start issuing benefits on July 1 for case numbers ending in one. It goes on until July 10.

Benefits are distributed monthly to CalFresh accounts connected to CalFresh EBT cards. Grocery stores and some farmers' markets accept EBT cards.

Your benefits can be used to purchase most food items, including seeds and plants that grow food for your household to eat.

California Department of Social Services noted that some farmers' markets give CalFresh recipients twice the amount of produce they pay for.

To use your benefits through EBT cards, recipients should simply swipe their cards in the card reader machine and enter their PIN to use their benefits.

California also has a Restaurant Meals Program, which is a state option that allows certain SNAP recipients who might not be able to prepare meals for themselves to buy prepared meals at restaurants with their SNAP benefits.

There is a certain criterion to be met to qualify for RMP such as being 60 years old or older, disabled, homeless, or spouse of a SNAP recipient who is eligible for the RMP.
