A Florida couple was charged with bestiality after engaging in a sexual act with their dog on multiple occasions.

The couple, identified as Geoffrey Michael Dennis Springer and Christina Calello, even recorded the sexual activity and saved the video clips to a flash drive, according to a Law and Crime report.

The 39-year-old man and his 36-year-old partner were both charged with one count each of sexual activity involving animals.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office noted in their press release that Calello was arrested for having "willingly engaged in sexual activity with a dog on multiple occasions."

The crime lasted over the span of nearly a decade. Meanwhile, Springer allegedly recorded the sexual act and saved the video clips to a flash drive.

Investigators showed evidence of the video showing the alleged sexual act with the dog to Springer. He then positively identified the woman in the video clip "receiving oral sex" from the dog as Calello, according to the affidavit.

Florida Couple Engaged in a Sexual Act With Dog

The dog was taken from the ex-couple by deputies and was brought to a local pet hospital for routine examination.

Prison records show that Calello was arrested and charged in May with domestic battery, while Springer was released without bail, having no prior arrests, according to a Daily Mail report. The court date for the Florida couple has yet to be announced.

Bestiality is considered a misdemeanor of the first degree in Florida, with penalties of up to one-year imprisonment. In addition, offenders also usually pay a $1,000 fine.

Most places across the nation consider bestiality to be illegal except for four states: Wyoming, New Mexico, Hawaii, and West Virginia. These states instead consider the sexual act as animal abuse.

Sex Act With Dog Investigation in Florida

Calello reportedly admitted to having engaged in sexual activities with her dog many times while also trying to place blame on the animal.

Investigators noted that the defendant had the dog perform oral sex on her several times "due to the dog being curious." However, video evidence showed that the dog was performing the sexual act on Calello while not making any motions or gestures to stop it.

Police initially did not share the breed of the dog and the nature of the alleged sexual acts, according to a Complex report.

Springer reportedly admitted to investigators that Calello had done around 30 to 50 sexual acts with the dog in eight years.

The video obtained by authorities was filmed by Springer around May or June 2022. Springer said that he saved the video clip to his personal flash drive in a folder entitled "XXX Sex Videos Loki."

Calello was then released from the county jail after she posted a $5,000 bond.

Meanwhile, the animal was found not to have been injured.
