A sheriff detective testified in a Los Angeles court on Monday that Dawn Melody DaLuise, a well-known skin care specialist, tried to hire white supremacists to kill her competitor, who she described as a Mexican and homosexual, a "double minority."

The West Hollywood skin specialist attended her preliminary hearing on Monday, where the judge said that there is sufficient evidence for the 55-year-old to go to trial on one count of solicitation of murder, KTLA reports.

DaLuise is known for her Skin Refinery, which has multiple celebrity clients. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, she tried to hire someone to kill Gabriel Suarez, another esthetician who opened his Smooth Cheeks office in the same complex as the Skin Refinery.

DaLuise was charged on March 7 and eventually pleaded not guilty. She faces up to nine years in state prison if found guilty.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Steven McCauley testified on Monday that he spoke with multiple men DaLuise asked to kill Suarez. She told the men that Suarez was stalking her online, according to the prosecutor.

"In one instance ... she asked him if he could get her in contact with a white supremacist group, and the phrase from that point was, in essence, to find somebody to take out a 'double minority, Mexican gay,'" McCauley said.

DaLuise also gave investigators a list of witnesses to Suarez's supposed stalking. According to investigators, however, some of those witnesses admitted that DaLuise asked them to lie.

Meanwhile, Suarez learned the gritty details of the case during the hearing.

"It's just really scary," Suarez told the local news station. "The hate that this person could have toward somebody ...."

DaLuise is being held on $1 million bail at Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California. Her next court date is on July 7.
