The Kiely Rodni missing case has come to an end as Place County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Tuesday that the body that was pulled from a California reservoir belongs to the 16-year-old who has been missing for about two weeks.

Rodni's remains were confirmed after an autopsy was performed. Her body was discovered inside her vehicle, which was submerged in 14 feet of water and was found by the volunteer diver group Adventures With Purpose, according to a Fox News report.

The group of volunteer divers joined the search for the California teen and found her missing silver Honda CRV with her inside of it.

Placer County Sheriff's Capt. Troy Sander said that the area had been "extensively searched," with the search including plane, helicopter, boat, and divers.

Placer County Sheriff's Office and the Nevada County Sheriff's Office released a statement saying that they are currently in talks with Rodni's family while extending their condolences.

Meanwhile, Rodni's cause and manner of death have not yet been made public, with officials saying that an investigation is still ongoing.

AWP member Doug Bishop said that they discovered Rodni's vehicle in 14 feet of water and was about 55 feet from shore. The discovery was made with the assistance of sonar imaging technology.

Bishop said in a live stream on Monday that they have found Rodni's body while also confirming that those were the remains of the California teen.

Kiely Rodni Missing Case

Rodni family released a family on Monday saying that they are "eternally grateful" for the support during the search for the California teen.

During the search for Kiely, the Placer County Sheriff's Office noted that they do not have any interest in arresting or prosecuting any minors who were at the party using drugs or drinking and just focus on finding Rodni.

It then upgraded the case to abduction as Rodni's car have not been found at the time, with the department considering all leads and possibilities of the case.

The spokesperson of the Sheriff's Office, Angela Musallam, said that they do not want to "leave no stone unturned."

Musallam added at the time in a KCRA report that Rodni is "considered to be incredibly at risk" being that she is a minor, missing, and cannot locate her or her vehicle.

However, California Highway Patrol has not issued an Amber Alert for Rodni as there is no confirmation that she was kidnapped.
